Tuesday, August 26th, 2025:
I voted YES on HB 4706 (Rep. Bollin) would provide appropriations for multiple departments and branches for FY 25-26. EXPLANATION: The House budget proposal is a step in the right direction by substantially reducing the size of government. The budget plan is $78.5 Bn under the House plan, while the Democrat-controlled Senate and Governor have proposed budgets that are roughly $84 Bn when last year’s budget was over $81 Bn. The proposed budget would implement accountability for government employees, cut wasteful DEI programs, and reduce superfluous spending. The budget also poses a 74% cut to the MEDC, commonly known as the Michigan Economic Department of Corruption, who has continually worked closely with Governor Whitmer to wreck our state’s economy through failed corporate welfare giveaways.
PASSED: 59-45
